Don't you simply love a freebie? I know I do.

I've been in two occasions recently as a customer, when I got an unexpected freebie. Just after ordering my usual bagel and coffee at the Bagel Bar, the girl behind the cashier offered me a bottle of mineral water for free. I was going to ask for a glass of water anyway, so it came as a welcome surprise.

Some days later, I went buying a steak at the meat section in my local supermarket. I was chatting with the guy at the cashier about the point that there didn't seem to be too much meat for that much money.

He obviously took pity on my unhappy face when he said - "Tell you what sir, why don't you have this other steak for the same price" and he placed another one on top!

So what do we learn here? The lesson is that most of the customers like a freebie and if they receive one from a supplier it develops a positive relationship. And when people order stuff at your online business, on the download page, give them some freebies and they will love you for that.

As customers, we're likely to come back and do business with those who give us freebies and we're more willing to tell other people about our positive experience. It's good approach to give your customers freebies sometimes but don't over do it. If you blast your email database with gifts on daily basis you will certainly miss the objective and your internet marketing business is going to suffer for it..
