Sadly I do not appear on the annual Rich List, if I did, I would probably buy my very own cinema. Till I get my cinema, I make do at home, and there are several principles which I feel are essential for getting the best possible experience when it comes to watching movies at home.
My initial starting point is the good quality of the equipment. I believe in saving my pennies and then going out and buying the finest quality I can manage to pay for. Yes, it does mean waiting for products to sometimes come down a little in price to be within my budget, however there're also up sides.
My favourite upside is product investigation. I completely love going round the shops and checking out everything which is in the marketplace. I'm a huge believer in the fact that you should see a product working, however some outlets offer a better experience compared to others. The outlets selling the very top end of the range, will nearly always have a room to experience the suggested combinations to give you the best experience. Do remember that these people really want to sell to you, and when they feel you are not serious about buying then they might not give you much time and help; these people are full of useful information. You can see the extent of this in the shops if you try to look at the screen standing up and then again sitting down; it is more obvious on scene shot in the dark (probably why they don't usually have these playing in shops).
So before you part with any money you need to select you equipment, design your room around it and then you start reading the television reviews, the audio equipment reviews and of course the guarantees!
