The forging process requires a compressive stress to be applied on the work piece. Today, because of the improvements in modern forging techniques, the forging procedure is not just limited to simple shapes any longer. Complicated shapes could now be forged accurately making use of modern presses.
There are two types of the forging process. This is the hot forging and cold forging.
